Have I mentioned recently how much I LOVE weekends? Especially weekends where at least one day is sunny. We started out weeding and edging and replanting violas…threw in a touch of shrub trimming and runaway shrub eradicating. Came in and cleaned up a bit and went out on our weekly shopping excursion. First lunch at “our” place, him an Absolut Peppar bloody mary and me a sampler of local beers, him fried calamari and coconut shrimp and me a “wedge” salad and some of his calamari and shrimp. Off to buy paint for the kitchen, baby herbs to renew the over-wintered planters and to establish new herb containers, tropical fish for the depleted tank and cherry tomatoes, chicken breast, grapes, red, orange and green peppers, sweet potatoes for the weekend meals I had planned…then home for some more weeding, some moving of above-mentioned over-wintered planters to their outdoor summer home, some transplanting of baby plants (flat leaf and curly parsley, cilantro, marjoram, thyme, oregano) into their container homes, then cooking a really yummy roasted cherry tomato, capers, olive oil, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs and romano cheese (I halved the recipe but forgot to halve the cheese…oops…it was good, but would have been better with half as much cheese) pasta dinner. The Sox and Celtics disappointed, but today is a new day. More weeding and cooking are in our plans for the day…enjoy!
