The weather prognosticator moaned this morning about the continuing, crushing, destructive heat wave around the country, particularly in southwest states. I woke up this morning to 66 degrees of sunshine and a light breeze, with a high anticipated at 72 degrees.
There are so many starving people in this world that it makes my heart hurt. We made and devoured an incredible pizza yesterday that included tomatoes, an orange pepper and basil from our garden.
I have retired, at least for now, from acting and directing in community theater. My theater friends, Facebook, the Arts writers at the NYTimes, among others, help fill the void and keep me in the theater in spirit.
I don’t have many (any?) friends where I live now. I have the most amazing friends and family with whom I stay in daily (if not hourly) contact via gmail, google, blogs…I play Words with Friends and Wordfeud (I’m StarStrukLynna) with my sisters and my girlfriends…I blog to share my joyful life with, in particular, my family, but also with whoever cares to read! I have one solid, loving, wonderful real life friend who seeks me out when I have been in hiding for too long…bless you, friend. I have friends who go regularly to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, so I know which shows to catch and which to miss when I go to NYC for two blinding, full days soon!
OK, I could go on and on, but I am most certainly very lucky to have such a happy life…I am very lucky to have the family and friend support necessary to encourage me to treasure my happy life. Just plain lucky.
And, last, but certainly not least…Boo, who gets a REAL haircut tomorrow…
