Since I “retired” on the coast of Maine, I have spent a lot of time watching the ocean and the woods and the towns around me…watching and photographing. But some days, the camera just lies there…it doesn’t call to me, it just sits.
Today was one of those. I managed to shoot my morning photos and then life intervened. We’re having construction done on our little house as we live in it. When I say little house, I mean little house. Two rooms, one bathroom. The first round of chaos came when we moved all the furniture in the living room into the center of the room…the room functions as our living room, office, dining room and kitchen, so we’re not talking about a couple of pieces of furniture. Plus, we have two indoor cats. Part of the excitement has been barricading said cats into the part of the house which isn’t under construction, with doors wide open, dealing with cat food (keeping it off the floor so the dog doesn’t get it) and the cat box (currently residing in the bathtub…don’t get me started). The first week, the cats were shut up in the bedroom (as was I), while they opened up and then closed up the ocean side of the house. This second and final week, the cats and I have made ourselves comfortable in the living room…well, some of us have. Sophie, the snowshoe-ie, siamesey, striped tail little cat is easily bribed with food. Phoebe, the enormous dilute calico, is not. She decided this morning that she was NOT leaving the bedroom…no tempting with food, no rattling a broom handle under the bed, no squeezing my too large body under the too low bed to retrieve her. And, believe it or not, it was fine. She spent the entire day under the bed as the guys worked on the other side of the bedroom.
All this to explain the lack of photographic output today. My brain is done.
See you tomorrow!
