I got caught without immediate access to my camera, as I saw a juvenile bald eagle dip and glide out over the ocean in my back yard. So, I just stood and watched. It disappeared up down the peninsula (or so I thought), so I turned around and walked away. Suddenly, my husband remarked that he saw a large shadow pass by the window. I ran to the window, looked up and there was that juvie up in the top of our tree! I took a couple of photos through the dirty door, then quietly slid the door open to try to catch a few for real. After a minute, it swooped backwards and disappeared again. I feel blessed to have seen it at all!
