Midcoast Maine

Some view, eh? I live in a small town in Midcoast Maine, overlooking the water and for some of the year, covered by snow. Every day, my miniaussiedoodle Boo, my camera and I try to document what we see. Some days it's fishing and lobster boats with sea gulls galore; some days we see wild animals and mother nature's most breathtaking shows. What you see is what we see!

P.S. We have a summer rental property as well, so if you're ever looking to enjoy these vistas in person, contact me!

Back to the ocean this January 29 2014

My return to Maine has so far meant gray skies…I’ve been waiting to post, hoping for some more dramatic photos, but now it is snowing (just teeny tiny little wisps), so I think most photos taken today will be blue-ish…good motivation to work on paperwork and laundry!

Breathless this January 23 2014

A late post today…photos were take and mostly uploaded by 7am, but then I had to leave for the airport. Oh, yes, it was 3 degrees this morning […]

Another cold one this January 22 2014

It feels as cold outside this morning as it looks in these photos…pardon the not-totally-steady shots, but I think my hands were shaking a bit (it is 7 degrees F, but the wind, even a light one, seems to creep through my layers). Looking forward to the Pre-Ks at the Library later this morning…they never […]

It snowed on January 19 2014

Updated midafternoon: Snow has stopped…it is so heavy and wet that it is falling off the trees in big whumps! Wet, splotchy, shaggy snow that stuck to the trees in great clumps, like cotton balls…still snowing lightly…

A cold and gray start January 18 2014

Silvery morning light January 17 2014

The nuthatches are back in full force! They disappeared a few weeks ago, when the weather got VERY cold…I was so worried they had frozen to death…silly, I know, but one gets a little connected to regular wild visitors…I apologize in advance for the seaspray-spotted windows, but those nuthatches are very camera shy and I […]
